Cybersecurity Training and Awareness Workshop for principals and deputy principals of general education institutions

Octalogik in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Chișinău City Hall, organised a “Train the Trainer” course in the field of cybersecurity. This workshop was designed for principals and deputy principals of general education institutions in the capital, with the aim of preparing them to subsequently train teachers and students from 150 schools.

The main objective of this project is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts of cybersecurity and to offer the necessary tools and resources to increase the level of knowledge and skills in this field. By training principals and deputy principals, the goal is to ensure a safer and more secure online environment for the entire educational community.

The trainers of this workshop, Mihai Dantiș, Cyber Security expert and Natalia Spînu, Director of the European Institute for Political Studies in Moldova, emphasised the importance of cybersecurity awareness for teaching staff. They highlighted the need for a proactive approach in education to protect personal and confidential data, prevent fraud and cyber attacks, and promote responsible and safe online behaviors.

Workshop participants had the opportunity to explore essential topics, such as:

✅ Basic concepts in cybersecurity
✅ Identifying and managing cyber risks in educational institutions
✅ Protecting personal and confidential data
✅ Preventing and combating fraud and cyber attacks
✅ Promoting safe and responsible online behaviors among students and teachers

Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, principals and deputy principals acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively convey this information to teachers and students.

Octalogik expresses its deep gratitude to the General Directorate of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Chișinău City Hall, represented by Mr. Andrei PAVALOI, Deputy Head of DGETS, for ensuring effective bilateral cooperation in the endeavor to increase the level of knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity.
